Parents in a fix as some schools start draw of lots

-

Even as over a thousand schools have not uploaded the details on the DoE website yet, some of them have started conducting drawing of lots on Tuesday.

This has spread more panic and confusion among parents as these schools are holding the process on different dates and there is no uniformity. Parents complained that most schools are not even uploading the details on their website and instead sending notifications to the parents individually.

“There is no transparency in the drawing of lots process. Schools are informing parents individually through texts or mails. They should publish the results on their website for everyone to see. Schools should be doing video- recording of the process but hardly any school is following the guidelines,” said Sumit Vohra, founder of admissionsnursery. com — an online forum for the parent community.

On Tuesday, the forum received multiple complaints from parents who had received no information about the process from the schools they had applied to for their wards.
