MET FORECASTS COLDER DAYS AHEAD

After recording warmer temperatur­es in the past few days, the day temperatur­es suddenly dipped on Monday as the weather became colder in the capital. It was a cloudy day on Monday and the maximum temperatur­e was recorded at 21.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the normal for this part of the season. Rains are likely to lash Delhi overnight or on Tuesday as it finds itself engulfed in hailstorm and strong winds in some parts along with adjoining Western Uttar Pradesh. Temperatur­es are expected to dip even further after the rain and thundersto­rms subside in all regions. The minimum temperatur­es were recorded at 13 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. It is likely to go down to 11 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The sudden change in weather is attributed to a western disturbanc­e persisting over Jammu and Kashmir region. According to MeT forecast, it will be a partly cloudy sky on Tuesday and the maximum temperatur­e is likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius.
