JAWAN DIES IN CELEBRATOR­Y FIRING DURING WEDDING IN U. P.

An Armyman was killed in celebrator­y firing at a wedding in Kanpur districts, late on Monday night.

According to police reports, the incident took place in Chakeri area when friends of the groom, Shiv Prakash, were dancing in the wedding procession near the Pitambara guest house when one of the friends, Sanjay Maurya, opened fire.

The bullet hit 28year- old trooper Kuldeep Dixit, who had come to Kanpur from Ambala to attend his friend’s wedding.

Kuldeep was rushed to the Kanshi Ram Trauma Centre where he was pronounced dead. Kuldeep had got married in November 2017.

Sanjay Maurya, who had opened fire in a drunken state, has been arrested and his rifle has been seized.

The groom, the deceased and the accused belong to the same village in Rae Bareli.
