On February 9, the PM asked the BJP’s parliamentarians to meet different sections of society through mock parliaments where several initiatives of the government will be discussed.

Talking about holding a similar event inside Parliament premises, Mr Tiwari said that the event was designed so as to to share the finer points of Modi government by the participants by providing a parliamentary atmosphere. And there is none better than GMC Balayogi Auditorium inside Parliament, he added

Mr Tiwari said that the participants would elect their own government, opposition and speaker. “They will debate on several topics; Among them the top three will be selected winner. They will be selected on basis of their knowledge and performance in real- time situations,” Mr Tiwari added.

Due to overwhelming response, registration for participation for mock parliament has been closed.

“Due to overflow of applications, we have stopped accepting new ones. For 600 participants, we have received more than 3,000 applications, now among these participants will be selected,” said a source, who is overseeing the preparation of mock parliament.

Sources claimed that 600 participants from different sections such as students, women, professionals and others will be shortlisted to participate in the main event on February 25.

“If required a small interview will conducted,” the source added.
