Kidnapped minor girl rescued from Jaipur

A minor girl was rescued from Jaipur within 24 hours of her kidnapped by the team of Delhi police. A 20- yearold youth has been arrested in this connection.

With the arrest of Ajay ( 20), a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, the staff of Prasad Nagar police station has been able to recover a minor girl, aged 14 years, within 24 hours.

According to the police, the minor girl had gone missing on February 19 from Prasad Nagar, following which a case of kidnapping was immediatel­y registered. There was no clue in the case and the victim was not carrying any mobile phone. Subsequent­ly, a team was formed which analysed the footage of CCTV cameras of the area near the house of the victim.

While verifying the CCTV footage, one of the footages led the police team to suspect one Ajay, who worked nearby and was also found missing since the incident. The police team was immediatel­y dispatched to his native place in Jaipur where the suspect was found present at his house but there was no clue about the victim. The movements of Ajay were verified and some contradict­ions were noticed in his version to which he was confronted, said the police.

“On initial interrogat­ion, he tried to mislead the police team and showed his ignorance about the victim but when he was subjected to sustained interrogat­ion, he broke down and at his instance, the victim girl was recovered from a rented room in the adjoining locality of his native village,” said a senior police officer.
