Community leaders accuse Rajbhar of misleading party

- AMITA VERMA

It is now turning into a Rajbhar versus Rajbhar war in the UP BJP with the leaders belonging to the Rajbhar community in the BJP accusing UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, who heads the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party( SBSP), of misleading their party leaders.

The SBSP is an ally of the BJP in UP and has four MLAs. Its president Om Prakash Rajbhar is a cabinet minister and has been repeatedly embarrassing the Yogi Adityanath government with his statements.

“Om Prakash Rajbhar has misled our leaders by claiming that he wields considerable influence over the Rajbhar community. He has not only embarrassed our government but has also betrayed the community,” said BJP MP Hari Narain Rajbhar.

The BJP MP further said that in the 2017 Assembly elections, the SBSP was given eight seats and Om Prakash Rajbhar sold most of the tickets for a price.

“He is now threatening that he has the Rajbhar community on his side and is trying to bargain for seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections so that he can, again, sell them for a price,” the BJP MP said.

Another minister Anil Rajbhar, who belongs to the BJP, echoed similar sentiments and said that Mr Rajbhar was drunk on power and maligning the image of the Yogi government. He referred to the recent statement made by Mr Om Prakash Rajbhar in which the latter claimed that corruption had increased in the Yogi Adityanath regime.
