DDAamends master plan to bring relief to traders

To bring relief to traders from the ongoing sealing drive in the capital, Delhi Developmen­t Authority ( DDA) on Tuesday approved various amendments to the Master Plan of Delhi- 2021.

The amendments were approved at a DDA meeting held under the chairmansh­ip of lieutenant governor Anil Baijal at Raj Nivas.

During the meeting, it was decided that the anomaly regarding differenti­al norms for mixed land use has been streamline­d and the uniform floor area ratio will be permitted in all shop cum residentia­l plots and complexes prevailing before notificati­on of MPD- 1962.

The FAR will be permitted for residentia­l plotted developmen­t as stipulated in the MPD- 2021 The permissibi­lity of basements for commercial/ profession­al activities will be allowed in shop cum residentia­l plots/ complexes as applicable for mixed land use/ commercial streets.

To cater to the footfall of visitors and vehicles in such areas and complexes, parking and other related infrastruc­ture will be augmented by the concerned service providers.

In case parking cannot be provided within a said plot, the concerned local bodies will identify and develop the land for providing shared or common parking. In the absence of any land for parking, such complexes or streets will be declared as “pedestrian shopping street or areas”.

To further promote parking facility, the scheme areas will be provided with 5 per cent extra ground coverage.
