Woman among 4 arrested for traffickin­g girls

■ 3 minors rescued by police

A gang of trafficker­s, who used to kidnap girls and later force them into flesh trade, was busted by the Delhi police. Four persons, including a woman, have been arrested.

The arrested have been identified as Neeraj ( 32), Anuj Pal ( 31) and Babloo ( 31). The fourth arrested has been identified as the wife of accused Anuj.

The police recovered a kidnapped minor girl and two more girls have been rescued from their clutches. The gang used to marry off the girls in exchange of hefty sums or also sent them to parties for availing escort services.

According to police, a complaint was received on February 2 regarding the kidnapping of a minor girl ( 14). On the basis of secret informatio­n and laborious efforts, the kidnapped girl was recovered from Gautam Budh Nagar in UP on February18. During investigat­ion, the minor was produced before the CWC ( Child Welfare Committee) and her statement was recorded. It was found that she was sold off to Neeraj ( 32) for ` 4 lakh. At this, Sections 366A, 370, 376, and 34 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act were added to the said case.

Accused Neeraj was arrested during investigat­ion.

At his instance, the other accused persons were arrested.

During the arrest of accused Anuj and his wife, two other minor girls were also recovered from their house.

During interrogat­ion, it came to the notice of the police that there are four more such victims. In this regard a team has been constitute­d to rescue the girls. Further investigat­ion is in progress.
