Owner assaulted inside bar during brawl in West Delhi

In an alleged drunken brawl, the owner of a restaurant- cum- bar, based in Rajouri Garden, was allegedly thrashed by a gang of six persons on Sunday night.

According to police, owner of Boom Box Cafe Rijul Garg ( 27) and his brother Nikunj received critical injuries. Probe revealed that Rijul runs the establishm­ent along with his partner Manish.

On Sunday night, a man had booked three tables to throw a birthday party. At around 9 pm he went to the said bar along with his friends, including three women.

According to Rijul, the complainan­t and owner, they ordered food and drinks and the party began. It being Sunday, the restaurant had a good strength of visitors. Later, when Rijul approached them at around 1 am and allegedly asked them to finish the party as the stipulated time was over and offered to clear the bill, the man took offence and started misbehavin­g with him. When Rijul took a stand over the same, the six persons began thrashing him. Hearing the commotion, Nikunj tried to intervene. However, the alleged goons threw bottles at him. Seeing the commotion in the restaurant, the other guests left the place in panic. However, one of the guests informed the police control room. A team rushed to the spot and found Rijul and Nikunj lying with injuries. They were rushed to a hospital, where injured Rijul narrated the incident to the police.
