ELDERLY WOMAN CHEATED OF HER VALUABLES

A 67- year- old woman was cheated of her valuables by two men posing as policemen in Kotla Mubarakpur on Monday night. As per the police, Manju Sharma, a resident of South Extension- 1 , went out for a walk when she was stopped by two men. They introduced themselves as policemen and warned her that she should be careful during these days as thefts and snatching took place in Delhi daily. DCP, South, Romil Baaniya, DCP ( South) said, “On March 12, I received a PCR call at around 9: 47pm from Ms Sharma. She complained that some policemen took away her gold bangles and gold chain. The duo introduced themselves as policemen and asked her to keep her jewellery in a paper for safety. Later, when she checked the paper packet in which she had placed her jewellery, she quickly deduced that the two persons gave her another paper packet containing duplicate jewellery and filed a police case at Kotla Mubarakpur,” Mr Baaniya added. The police said that they are scanning the footage of all CCTVCs to ascertain the identity of the robbers.
