J& K chief min­is­ter Me­hbooba Mufti on Fri­day thanked for­mer In­dian crick­eter and MP Sachin Ten­dulkar for sanc­tion­ing 40 lakh for a school ` of the state’s fron­tier dis­trict of Kup­wara. Ten­dulkar has sanc­tioned this amount from the MPLAD funds for con­struc­tion of school build­ing in Kup­wara. The chief min­is­ter in or­der to ex­press her grat­i­tude took to mi­croblog­ging site Twit­ter. com. She said, “Thank­ful to @ sach­in_ rt for us­ing his MPLAD funds for the con­struc­tion of a school build­ing in Kash­mir. Even off the field, he con­tin­ues to in­spire us all.” Ten­dulkar, in a let­ter to the DM and dis­trict col­lec­tor ( of­fice of Mum­bai sub­ur­ban dis­trict, men­tioned that the Im­pe­rial Ed­u­ca­tional In­sti­tute, Drug­mulla in Kup­wara, es­tab­lished in 2007, had re­quested for funds and “the re­quest must be scru­ti­nised”. The de­scrip­tion of work re­quested in­clude con­struc­tion of a school build­ing with 10 class rooms, four lab­o­ra­to­ries, an ad­min­is­tra­tive block, six toi­lets and an as­sem­bly/ prayer hall.
