MUFTI THANKS TENDULKAR FOR 40L TO SCHOOL

J& K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday thanked former Indian cricketer and MP Sachin Tendulkar for sanctionin­g 40 lakh for a school ` of the state’s frontier district of Kupwara. Tendulkar has sanctioned this amount from the MPLAD funds for constructi­on of school building in Kupwara. The chief minister in order to express her gratitude took to microblogg­ing site Twitter. com. She said, “Thankful to @ sachin_ rt for using his MPLAD funds for the constructi­on of a school building in Kashmir. Even off the field, he continues to inspire us all.” Tendulkar, in a letter to the DM and district collector ( office of Mumbai suburban district, mentioned that the Imperial Educationa­l Institute, Drugmulla in Kupwara, establishe­d in 2007, had requested for funds and “the request must be scrutinise­d”. The descriptio­n of work requested include constructi­on of a school building with 10 class rooms, four laboratori­es, an administra­tive block, six toilets and an assembly/ prayer hall.
