MERCURY CLIMBS 4 NOTCHES ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATUR­E

The capital continued to witness above normal temperatur­e with Friday posting the city registerin­g four notches above the normal temperatur­e for this year of the season.

While the maximum temperatur­e was posted at 3 6.2° Celsius, the minimum was at 20° Celsius, two notches above normal, on Friday.

Delhi witnessed the hottest day of the season on Wednesday when the mercury levels at Palam observator­y recorded a scorching to 40.6° Celsius.

In fact, the Safdarjung observator­y also saw the maximum at 38.6° Celsius.

However, the mercury levels have dropped since then and are expected to drop further during this weekend. According to the weather forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatur­es are likely to hover around 34° and 18° Celsius on both on Saturday and Sunday.
