POLICE BUSTS ZEHERKHURA­NI GANG, 2 HELD

The North district police busted Zeherkhura­ni gang and arrested two gang members who have 12 cases against them. The criminals have robbery, snatching, car jacking and even contract shooting cases against them. The accused were identified as, Ashfaq, 36, of Paharganj and Muzaffar Alam, 33, resident of Kishangarh, Bihar. One countrymad­e pistol along with two live cartridges, pone Hyundai Verna car used in the commission of the crime, nine mobile phones, eight SIM cards and six Aadhar/ PAN/ ATM cards were recovered from their possession. According to the police, on Tuesday during patrolling, secret informatio­n was received that members of a Zeherkhura­ni gang will come towards Nishariya Masjid from DTC Depot side with illegal weapons in a Verna car. Acting upon the tip- off a trap was laid near the spot. After a short while, the car was seen coming in the same direction and was stopped and arrested by the police team. During interrogat­ion, it was revealed Ashfaq was involved in a dozen criminal cases, including abduction and murder.
