OVERHAUL CRICKET

-

THE BALL tampering incident involving three Australian cricketers leads one to a larger question involving the state of international cricket being played in the last 10 years or so. There was a time in the bygone era when players used to walk back to the pavilion without waiting for the umpire’s finger to be raised when they knew that they were out. These days, sledging and aggressive behaviour by players is common. In the present context, a complete overhaul is needed to restore the game of cricket to its past glory.
