GANG OF FOREIGN CURRENCY THEIVES BUSTED

With the arrest of two perosns including the kingpin, police team from Kirti Nagar has busted a gang of foreign currency thieves who had decamped with the currency amounting 2 crore 13 lakhs after midnight heist of wellexecut­ed conspiracy. However, the recovery got affected after a successful chase across four states in a week's time. The arrested Daljeet Singh ( 39) has been arrested earlier as well in a false currency case of crime branch in the year 2008. Police said that a theft report was lodged that a theft of 10 lakh 30 thousand foreign currency took place. The complianan­t also raised an apprehensi­on that his ex- servant Rattan may be involved in it as he is also missing after the incident. On his statement, a case was registered and investigat­ion was taken up, on April 14. Police suspected possibilit­y of an organised gang, thereby, a team was constitute­d to nab the thieves. During the course of investigat­ion, it was revealed that the complainan­t is a permanent resident of Sirsa, Haryana and is running a business of commoditie­s imported from foreign suppliers. He had employed a man named Ratan, one month ago. However, after noticing his abnormal behaviour and intoxicati­ons, he had terminated him from services. On April 4, he went to Kota in connection with some work. Probe reveals that on April 12, he came to know through his business partner Lovely that Ratan came back at his residence in the midnight on the pretext of having some work in Delhi. Taking advantage Rattan unbolted the door of the house and allowed two of his accomplish namely Daljeet and Jasbir inside the house. Reportedly, the three accused fled away with cash.
