As per the directive issued by the department of education ( DoE), the PTM was organised from 8 am to 1 pm in the morning shift schools and 2 pm to 7 pm in the evning shift schools. The DoE had asked the head of the department sof the different schools to notify the parents and children studying in classes 3 to 9, in advance. The principals were asked to give 5 to 10 minutes to the parents to discuss the progress of their wards.

Officials said that in order to make the scheme a success, it is pertinent to involve the parents of the children and hence an awareness initiative was organised through the PTM. The parents were given a booklet, through which they can help their wards in reading and maths. Along with that, they were given a sevenweek programme which includes the guidelines to help their wards at home.
