Key suspects summoned by cops
No arrests have been made a day after a 71- yearold doctor, Dr Hans U. Nagar, was shot several times over an alleged property row. The police team, which had summoned suspects for questioning, is yet to make formal arrests.
Dr Nagar is said to be out of danger and is recuperating at a hospital in Gurgaon, said the police.
According to the police, the doctor, who had survived four bullet injuries in his abdomen, in his statement had allegedly told the police that the assailants allegedly threatened him before shooting.
On the ill- fated Sunday, he said that a long- standing property dispute between him and his brothers over a property in Fatehpur Beri was allegedly the reason behind the attack. According to police, the farmhouse in Gurgaon, owned by the billionaire doctor, which worth more than ` 100 crore, had soured the orthopaedic surgeon’s relations with his brothers.
So far, the investigators haven’t made any arrests in the alleged shoot- out; it is still underway. Based on the statement given by Dr Nagar, one of his brother identified as John had threatened him when he caught him making a video. He said his brother had cheated him and sold the farmhouse to a private company by name DB. In this regard, a separate complaint was filed at Gurgaon police station.
Dr Nagar, who is married to a foreign national and has three children, was returning from his clinic at IIT when the incident took place. As he reached the entry gate of his farmhouse, four to five armed assailants who were allegedly was stationed there started firing at him. In retaliation, Dr Nagar too shot several rounds from his licensed revolver. In the cross firing, Dr Nagar received four bullets in his abdomen. His father was a retired brigadier.
