ENCROACHME­NTS IN NORTH DELHI REMOVED

New Delhi, April 30: Scores of unauthoris­ed encroachme­nts were on Monday removed in North Delhi areas, including at the famous Khari Baoli market, in a antiencroa­chment drive conducted by the North Delhi Municipal Corporatio­n ( NDMC). The NDMC antiencroa­chment squad assisted by the city police and many administra­tive personnel removed several permanent encroachme­nts at the Kingsway camp." Encroachme­nts of permanent nature measuring 2,000 square metre and temporary measuring 1,800 square metres, including, illegal constructi­ons at shops and buildings, were also removed during the drive, that extended from Camp Chowk to Vijay Nagar," a NDMC official said. Seven vehicles, including two trucks, that were parked in a no parking zone, were also lifted by the team. The general department of the NDMC has collected ` 62 lakh as fine by removing vehicles from September 2017 till Monday, the official said. The team included officials and staff of the NDMC, the PWD, and the revenue and the police department­s. Major encroachme­nts were removed also in Khari Baoli, he said. As many as 20 permanent structures in shape of encroachme­nts spread over 1,500 square metre were removed from Peera Garhi, Udyog Nagar and Nangloi in the civic body’s Rohini zone. Last week, temporary encroachme­nts measuring 800 square metre were removed from the city’s Mukarba Chowk to the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar.
