NOYON JYOTI PARASARA The release of John Abraham’s

Parmanu seems to have hit a roadblock again with Kriarj Entertainment failing to comply with the Bombay High Court’s directives in the last hearing. As per the directive, the company was supposed to pay close to ` 6 crore in two parts as fee to John Abraham’s company for completion and delivery of the film. The company failed to pay the said sum following which JA Entertainment had approached the court again, this time making things worse for Kriarj.

The case was heard at the Bombay High Court on the last day before the summer vacations. What has come of the hearing seems to be quite a revelation. “The update — Kriarj is now most likely out of the film. There’s a serious indictment against them. They have committed a breach of the undertaking they have given before the court. They were to pay 50 per cent of the ` 5.8 crore by April 27, after which the international DCP of the film would be handed to Zee. And on April 29, they were to transfer the other half and the domestic DCP would be handed. However, the money was never paid despite repeated reminders. On the evening of April 29 they said the signatory was unwell so they would make the demand draft on the next working day. On Thursday morning, May 3, they finally said that they are unable to pay the promised money. The case hence went back to the court,” says a source from the film’s team. The court was not pleased with the way Kriarj dealt with the situation. “With so many complaints against Kriarj, the court has asked the Economic Offences Wing to look into the matter and submit its report by a certain date,” adds the source.

With Kriarj almost out of the picture, all parties involved will have to come together and discuss the film’s release. The parties include Zee, Vashu Bhagnani, JA Entertainment and Gothic Entertain- ment.

Prerna Arora along with other members of Kriarj have been summoned to the court on Monday between 2 pm to 4 pm
