LAHIRI OPENS WITH 3- UNDER 68 AT DALLAS

New Delhi: Anirban Lahiri went three- under in the opening round to lie tied 44th at the AT& T Byron Nelson Championsh­ips golf tournament in Dallas Texas, on Thursday. Lahiri hit five birdies against two bogeys in his round of 68. Daniel Chopra, playing only his second PGA Tour event this season, shot a three- over 74. Australian Marc Leishman led the field with a 10- under 61 round. J. J. Spaun and Texan Jimmy Walker were three shots back at seven- under 64. Spaun had six birdies in a span of seven holes for a 30 on his second nine. Local star Jordan Spieth was eight shots behind the leader with a round of twounder 69. Lahiri birdied the fifth and seventh holes, but a dropped shot meant he turned in one- under. A second bogey on 10th brought him back to even par, but birdies on 11th, 14th and 16th meant he finished at threeunder.

BAISOYA SLIPS TO TIED 23RD In Henan, China, Honey Baisoya slipped down the leaderboar­d to tied 23rd on the second day at the $ 300,000 Asia- Pacific Classic. The 27- year- old, who was tied second after the first day, added a one- over 73 to his first round of five- under 67 and at four- under 140. He was one of the two Indians who made the halfway cut with S. Chikkarang­appa ( 72- 71), who was tied 47th. Natipong Srithong of Thailand shot a second round fiveunderp­ar 67 to grab a share of the halfway lead at the St Andrews Golf Club. John Catlin ( 68- 66) of the United States shared the lead with Natipong on a 10- underpar 134 total.
