3 arrested for burgling CP showrooms

With the arrest of three persons on Monday, the Delhi police has claimed to have busted a gang of burglars who targeted branded showrooms. Police also claimed to have solved four high profile thefts, which took place in branded showrooms in Connaught Place area.
“Three members of the Raju gang — Raju Paneer Silvam ( 57), Sanjeev Kumar ( 48), and Nandu Rawat ( 32) — have been arrested. With their arrest, we have solved four cases of high profile theft at the showrooms of Reebok, Raymond, US Polo, and Khemchand and Bros shop. On the intervening night of May 4 and 5, we received a complaint from one Shankar that the door of his shop was found unlocked. It was found that ` 60,000 was stolen from the shop along with some other items. The second incident was reported two days later when the store manager of a branded

showroom found that around ` 3 lakh cash, 40- 45 pairs of jeans, 50 shirts, 50 trousers, and several pieces of other clothing items were stolen from the store,” said DCP ( New Delhi) Madhur Verma.
The DCP said that the third incident of theft was reported on May 12 by the store manager of another showroom. The fourth incident was reported on May 14 by the manager of a showroom in Inner Circle. Seeing the sensitive nature of these cases, police formed a team and started investigating. During the course of investigation, CCTV footage from the showrooms and nearby areas was collected. After analysing the CCTV footage, it was found that in each incident three persons came in between 3 am and 5 am in a hatchback taxi.
