Man, 26, arrested for killing his parents

The Delhi police has cracked the murder mystery of an elderly couple, who were found dead in their house in Jamia Nagar in suspicious circumstan­ces. The police has arrested the 26- year- old son of the deceased along with his associate.

The arrested accused was identified as Abdul Rehman ( 26), a resident of Jamia Nagar. His associate has been identified as Nadeem Khan ( 32), a resident of Nangloi. Abdul used to work at a call centre. Accused Nadeem primarily hails from Rampur, UP. He is unmarried and worked as a carpenter in Nangloi and was in desperate need of money.

According to police, on April 28, informatio­n was received that two persons were lying dead in Jamia Nagar area. A police team rushed to the spot and found that the main gate of the house was broken and in the first room two bodies were lying on the floor.

The deceased were identified as Shamim Ahmed ( 55) and his wife Taslim Bano ( 50).

The post- mortem report of both the deceased stated the cause of death as asphyxia due to smothering.

“During investigat­ion, some discrepanc­ies were noticed in the version given by Abdul. He was interrogat­ed and confessed of his involvemen­t in the murder,” said DCP Chinmoy Biswal.

The accused was the only son of his parents and in order to grab their property, he hatched a conspiracy to kill his parents.
