respond to Mr Gandhi and Congress’ “fuel challenge”. He had, however, responded to Kohli’s challenge and tweeted: “Challenge accepted, Virat! I will be sharing my own #FitnessChallenge video soon. @imVk oh li #Hum Fit T oh India Fit .”

It all started with the Union Sports minister, Mr Rajyavardhan Singh’s tweet urging the country to take up a #FitnessChallenge. Under the #Hum Fit T oh India Fit campaign, Mr Rathore also urged actor Hrithik Roshan, cricketer Virat Kohli and badminton player Saina Nehwal to take it up.

Through the #Hum Fit T oh India Fit, the minister urged people to post pictures and videos of how they keep themselves fit. The minister in a live video claimed that whenever he “looks” at the Prime Minister, he “gets inspired” by his energy and the inspiration “drives” him to exercise while at work. Saying this, the minister, clad in a white shirt, trousers and shoes started doing push ups.

He tweeted: “Send a #FitnessChallenge to your friends on social media. Here’s my video and I challenge @ iHrithik, @ imVkohli & @ NSaina to join in.”

Kohli accepted the challenge and tweeted: “I have accepted the #FitnessChallenge by @ ra_ THORe sir. Now I would like to challenge my wife @ AnushkaSharma, our PM @ narendramodi ji and @ msdhoni Bhai for the same. ?? #HumFitTohIndiaFit #ComeOutAndPlay.”

While Prime Minister is yet to post his video, virtually all the BJP leaders, ministers began posting theirs doing exercises while at work. BJP ministers, Kiren Rijiju, Jayant Sinha, BJP delhi unit president, Manoj Tiwari among others posted their videos doing push ups and other exercises while at work.

The Opposition also trolled the Prime Minister and launched a Twitter tirade against him. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav handed him another challenge.

“While we have nothing against accepting fitness challenge from @ imVkohli, I urge you to accept the challenge to provide jobs to young, relief to farmers, promise of no violence against dalits & minorities. Would you accept my challenge @ narendramodi Sir?” he tweeted.

The fitness challenge incidentally was not confined among politicians and stars and sports personalities. Some some television channels also joined the fitness party. Some TV channels aired scribes doing push- ups and various other exercises in their studios.
