Having agreed to join the investigation in the chief secretary assault case, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia will now be quizzed on Friday evening. On Wednesday, Mr Sisodia was sent a notice to join the probe, days after Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was questioned for over three hours in connection with the matter.

In a reply to the Delhi police, Mr Sisodia said that he will be joining the investigation on Friday at 4.30 pm. The police said the proceedings will be video recorded.

“Due to some work exigencies, I may not be able to join the investigation at 11 am. I would request you to defer the time on the same day at 4.30 pm and kindly communicate at the earliest,” Mr Sisodia said in a letter to the SHO of the Civil Lines police station.

A Delhi police team will visit Mr Sisodia’s residence at Mathura Road on Friday, a senior police official said.

“You ( Mr Sisodia) are required to attend the investigation and be available at your residence/ office on May 25 at 11.00 am. In the event that such timing is not convenient to you due to official exigencies, kindly intimate an alternate time,” the Delhi police notice had said.

Chief secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly attacked during a meeting at Mr Kejriwal’s official residence on February 19. The police said the chief minister and the deputy chief minister were present when the alleged assault took place.

The Delhi chief minister was quizzed last Friday.
