An additional commissioner of police ( ACP) from Cuttack in Odisha filed a complaint at the IGI ( Indira Gandhi International) Airport about the alleged theft of his visa for the UK.

The visa was issued to him to undergo a training course being conducted by the National Police Academy ( NPA) in collaboration with Cambridge University, in London from June 4 to 9.

“The visa was enclosed in my official passport. I submitted a copy of it to the MCTP section in National Police Academy, probably on June 1, after getting it photocopied in the Management Component Transport Protocol ( MCTP) section.

“Since Friday, the passport carrying the abovenoted visa was in my suitcase, which was kept in a room at ACM, NPA ( Hyderabad). On Sunday, after completing the NPA portion of MCTP training in Hyderabad, I went to Bhubaneswar. Later, I came to Delhi at 7 pm by an Indigo flight. At the time of check- in at Air India counter, it was first noticed by its staff that my visa was missing,” said the ACP in his written complaint at the IGI Airport police station.

“I suspect somebody took out the relevant page. I request you to kindly enquire into the matter,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation.

“We are investigating the matter and examining all his movements from Odisha to Delhi. We will solve this case as soon as possible,” said a police official on condition of anonymity.
