CHANDA KOCHHAR
The board of India’s largest private sector lender ICICI Bank has ordered an independent probe into allegations of ‘ conflict of interest’ and ‘ quid pro quo’ in bank’s MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar’s dealing with certain borrowers. There are allegations of involvement of Kochhar and her family members in a loan provided to Videocon group.

The CBI on Tuesday booked Group CEO of Air Asia Tony Fernandes for allegedly trying to manipulate government policies through corrupt means to get international licence for its Indian venture Air Asia India Limited. The Central Bureau of Investigation has also summoned him to appear before it on June 6 for questioning in the case.
SANJITA CHANU
Two- time Commonwealth Games champion weightlifter Sanjita Chanu has tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid and she has been provisionally suspended, the international federation said on Thursday. International Weightlifting Federation said on its website that Sanjita, who had won a gold in the women’s 53kg category in the recent Gold Coast CWG, has tested positive for testosterone. Sanjita had taken part in the 53kg class in the World Championship in Anaheim.

“Murdered” anti- Kremlin journalist Arkady Babchenko appeared alive and well at a press conference in Kiev on Wednesday as Ukraine admitted it had faked his death to expose an alleged Russian plot to kill him. He has contributed to a number of media outlets including top Opposition newspaper Novaya Gazeta and is an avid blogger, accusing Russian authorities of killing Kremlin critics.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane dropped a bombshell on Thursday, quitting the Spanish giants just days after winning the Champions League for a record third year in a row. The 45- year- old former international decided to quit at the top saying that it was time for a change for himself and the club and admitting he was unsure of his ability to maintain his winning record at Real.
