Huma and Saqib’s production plans

- UMA RAMASUBRAMANIAN

HUMA AND SAQIB’S PRODUCTION PLANS After delivering some excellent performances in Mere Dad Ki Maruti and Hawaa Hawaai, actor Saqib Saleem’s career faced a huge downfall after his films Doobaaraa and Dil Junglee bombed at the box office. But now the actor will next be seen in Salman Khan’s Race 3.

“I have done six to seven films before Race 3. But the kind of response I got for this film, I don’t think I got that from all the films put together. The amount of love, hate whatever you say, is creating a lot of attention and that is great,” says Saqib.

“The films that I wanted to do weren’t coming to me. In that process, I ended up doing films for wrong reasons, as I did not want to sit at home. I want to keep working and improve my craft. In such a time you just chose wrong scripts, more than that you chose wrong people to work it,” he adds. Saqib and his sister, actor Huma Qureshi, have always been extremely creative. So much so that the sibling has a plan to come up with their own p r o d u c t i o n

house.

“I have tons of plans but there is time for that. There is time for everything in life. At the moment I should concentrate on my acting bit, till I feel secure. I don’t feel secure as an actor, I want to do more films and get accepted by the masses,” he says, adding, “There is a definite plan and we have acquired a couple of scripts and book rights that we want to make. But when we aren’t sure.” It’s a sheer coincidence that this sibling is working with the biggest superstars of the entertainment industry. While Huma is working with Rajinikanth in Kaala, Saqib is sharing the screen space with Salman in Race 3.

“Ramzan is going great for both Huma and me. I am damn happy for her. I think Kaala will be a game changer as it is one of the nicest scripts. I am true blue Rajini sir fan and I am going to watch the film in Tamil,” says the Hawaa Hawaai actor.

Further the actor shares how it is a good time for the brother- sister. “It is a good time for us. Ten years ago I had no idea that I would be an actor and that one day my sister and I would do films with the biggest superstar of Bollywood and South. I think I am damn lucky,” he says.

Race 3 is slated for Eid release and Kaala releases this Friday.
