Tongue chopped off for seeking money

Lucknow: A man’s tongue was allegedly chopped off by his friends when he demanded money that he had lent to them. One of the accused owed ` 30,000 to the victim and the latter was insisting that the money be repaid.

A man’s tongue was allegedly chopped off by his friends when he demanded ` 30,000 that he had lent to them. The incident took place in Amroha on Monday. According to the victim Brajpal’s family, one of the accused, Chatrapal Singh, owed ` 30,000 to Brajpal and the latter was insisting that the money be repaid. Brajpal went to Chatrapal’s residence in Sondla Faridpur village in Amroha and demanded his money. Chatrapal and his relatives Sunil, Arvind and Savita allegedly assaulted Brajpal brutally before chopping off his tongue with a knife. The local police, meanwhile, claim that it was Brajpal who first assaulted Chatrapal. Amroha station house officer Sunil Kumar said, “Two days ago, a dispute had occurred between Brajpal and Chatrapal’s family in Sondala village over some money. Villagers informed the police and we found Chatrapal unconsciou­s in his house, Brajpal was missing and Chatrapal was taken to hospital for treatment. A case was registered against Chatrapal under section 325 ( voluntaril­y causing grievous hurt) of IPC”.

The SHO said that on Monday, Brajpal came to us along with his family. The family alleged that Brajpal’s tongue was chopped off by Chatrapal and his relatives.

A case has been registered against Chatrapal and his relatives, all of whom are now reportedly absconding.
