TWO SUMMITS BECOME INTERNET CLASSICS

-

Aphoto of Angela Merkel and other world leaders standing over Donald Trump at the G7 summit in Canada was given the meme treatment on social media, with Twitter users pouncing on it to take humorous digs at the scene of squabbling leaders of the world. It was not G7 so much as a ' G6 + 1' the Japanese Prime Minister said, taking the mickey out of Donald Trump.

The US President's threat of a trade war against allies triggered the huge infighting among the big economies of the world. It's not only ordinary people who behave like this when confronted with differences and while facing people who are not exactly universally popular.

The meme treatment was given to the Singapore summit too where a rushing Donald met Kim Jong- un and declared himself satisfied that he has saved the world from nuclear disaster. In the end, Kim may have had the last word as he gained recognition for his reclusive North Korea while merely promising to denuke his country.

Donald believed he had become such good pals with Kim that he showed the North Korean dictator the innards of ' The Beast', which is the bomb and bulletproof limo in which he travels. The debate rages over whether the world is a safer place after the Sentosa meeting, but it is certainly more of warring place about trade after Trump's threats to G7. The twitterati had a feast of a time gorging over the endless mirth caused by world leaders.
