CM slams PM, says ‘ fake’ case against elected representa­tives ‘ humiliatin­g’ to people

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia are likely to be charged with criminal conspiracy by the police over the alleged attack on a top bureaucrat in February.

Sources said the police has prepared a chargeshee­t based on the evidence and statements of many. It is set to be filed soon.

Mr Kejriwal lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the “fake” case against elected representa­tives was “humiliatin­g” to people.

He asserted the AAP government will continue to serve people despite the “Opposition” faced by it.

During the filing of the chargeshee­t in the case, the time displayed on the CCTV cameras was nearly 40 minutes behind the actual time on the night of the alleged attack on chief secretary Anshu Prakash at Mr Kejriwal’s residence.

A senior the police officer privy to the investigat­ion said the forensic report in the same was received earlier this week. The report does not mention whether the cameras were tampered with or AAP MLAs altered the clock around the time of the alleged attack on Mr Prakash or if it was set like this.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) refuted the allegation­s and termed them as “ludicrous”’ The incident led to a major confrontat­ion between the Delhi government and the bureaucrac­y.
