In a major reshuffle ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha polls, the Delhi BJP is going to replace several office bearers in the state unit and at the district level to strengthen the organisation. President of Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha Sunil Yadav and Mahila Morcha Poonam Parashar Jha would also be replaced with new faces.

The party is planning to implement ‘ one man one post policy’ and will replace municipal councillors holding any post in the organisation with new

faces. All the changes will likely to take place next week.

Sources claimed this could be a major reshuffle as two vice presidents are likely to be changed, including a replacement for municipal councillor Jai Prakash. In addition, one post is lying vacant after the resignation of Kulwant Singh Baath.

A senior party office bearer said a major reshuffle will take place in the media department and that the party leadership is also likely to change few key functionaries.

“About a dozen non- performing office bearers would be replaced with new faces. Office bearers and the media department have also been asked to come with fresh innovative ideas to publicise the achievements of the Modi government,” he said.

Delhi BJP is also planning to change four to five district presidents. It has divided the city into 14 districts, two each in a parliamentary segment.

The decision for reshuffle was taken after BJP president Amit Shah’s visit to the city unit last week. Mr Shah was reportedly unhappy with the functioning of Delhi BJP, which failed to complete the work assigned by him during his visit a year ago. Mr Shah categorically asked the state leadership to ensure better coordination between the district presidents and Lok Sabha members.
