NEXT iPHONES COULD SPORT DUAL SIM SLOTS

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

According to an online rumoured report, Apple will be releasing three phones this year, and they will be sporting a dual SIM feature — one of the most soughed requirements by users. The new iPhones are said to work on dual- standby. However, though the news seems exciting enough for all Apple fans out there, you should know that the feature will only be useful if you are in certain countries.

As reported by MacRumours, information by 21st Century Business Herald states that the SIM card tray will be allowing only one physical SIM card, while the other SIM would be an eSIM or an embedded Apple SIM within the phone. Countries, where Apple SIM is not available, will have an issue, specifically China. However, the report does state that Apple could probably include a dual SIM tray for two physical SIM cards for other countries.

Though this does sound like great news, it seems a little difficult to digest as of now. However, this report cannot be ignored either. This will probably soon be confirmed by developers who may scourge through the lines of codes in the Apple iOS and the developer kits. “The report doesn” t specify which of the 2018 iPhones will have an embedded Apple SIM, but Apple analyst Ming- Chi Kuo has previously said the 6.1- inch ‘ budget iPhone X’ and 6.5- inch ‘ iPhone X Plus,’ but oddly not the second- generation 5.8inch iPhone X, will support dual- SIM, dualstandby,” added MacRumour’s report.

Apple could release two 6.1- inch iPhones, one of which would be released specifically for China and the other for the global market.
