‘ EAM is listening to only harsh language’

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

In a wry reference to the vicious trolling she received after her ministry helped an interfaith couple from Lucknow, Union minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday said, “Don't feel bad. EAM is listening to only harsh language these days,” in a tweet. The minister made the comments on Twitter after an Indian woman vented her anger on social media over being stranded at Bali airport in Indonesia.

On Tuesday, an Indian lady- passenger got stranded at Bali airport after she apparently left her passport on- board the plane and was stopped at the immigration by Indonesian officials. She then asked Ms Swaraj for help.

The irate passenger later tweeted, “@ Sushm aS war aj Please tell me what actions have been taken for which the whole issue has been delayed for more than 24 hours? Only beating around the bush for nothing. I’m stranded here.”

A patient Ms Swaraj in her reply, tweeted, “Beta ( daughter) I understand your anger. We are making all out efforts. Our Consul General and Ambassador had taken up this matter. Now we have spoken to the foreign minister of Indonesia. Even now our Deputy Chief of Mission is in the foreign ministry to resolve this."

Another person on Twitter however, objected to the lady’s strongworded tweet asking, “Why she is using harsh language against EAM?” To which Ms Swaraj replied the above.
