‘ SHIVRAJ GOVT SCHEME TO HELP POOR GLOBALLY’

A ruling BJP leader here on Wednesday created a flutter in his party circle when he described a populist programme launched by Shivraj Singh Chouhan government ahead of November Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, an internatio­nal scheme aimed at “benefiting poor across the world”. Taking the gathering he was addressing here by surprise, sitting MLA and vice- president of

MP unit of BJP Rameswar Sharma said the “Mukhyamant­ri Jankalyan ( sambal) Yojana- 2018”, launched by the state government, was aimed at waiving electricit­y dues of around nine crore poor people in the world. “The scheme will benefit the poor of the world”, he added. According to the latest census, MP has a total population of 7.2 crore. The scheme, launched a couple of days ago, was aimed at waiving of dues of electricit­y bills of the labourers and Below Poverty Line ( BPL) families till June 30, 2018. The populist scheme will entail an expenditur­e of 70 crore to the state government.
