Jilted lover beats up minor girl inside shop, held

In a shocking incident, a jilted lover brutally thrashed a minor girl in Southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur area. The incident happened on June 30, and the entire incident was recorded in the CCTV camera, said the police on Wednesday. The locals claimed that the accused Satender, alias Sumit Bhati, created nuisance in the area on a daily basis. They alleged that they were afraid of him and hence did not report his activities to the police. According to the informatio­n on June 30, the 17- year- old girl went into a mobile shop. The accused followed her over suspicion that she was having a relation with the shop owner. The accused after entering the shop, grabbed the girl by hair and started beating her. The bystander did not dared to intervene. The whole incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed inside the shop. Deputy commission­er of police ( Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said, a case under relevant sections of the IPC and 8 Pocso Act was registered on June 30 on complaint of the 17- year- old victim. The alleged accused was arrested on the same day, said the DCP. In a similar incident, a Class 9 girl was allegedly raped by her classmate on Tuesday, police said. The accused took the girl at a secluded place and committed the crime in presence of one of his classmates. Both have been apprehende­d.
