Microsoft officially released the Surface Go tablet, the lower spec version of the already available and popular Surface Pro. The Surface Go comes with a 10- inch screen, inbuilt kickstand for erecting it and the overall design has been retained from the Pro device. Available in two trims — 4GB and 8GB RAM, the tablets come at a starting price of $ 399 ( approximately ` 27,400). Customers can pre- order it from July 10, while it is supposed to be delivered in August.

The Microsoft Surface Go is offered with a few accessories which include optional keyboard cover available in four colours along with an optional Surface pen, which delivers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity for added convenience and accuracy.

Each peripheral, if opted, will add $ 99 to the actual price of the Surface Go while you also get a mobile mouse for an additional $ 34.99. Sporting a screen with an aspect ratio of 3: 2 ( 1800 x 1200 pixels), the tablet runs Windows 10 out- of- the- box which users can upgrade to full Windows 10 Home for free. The tablet could be charged through a USB- C 3.1 port which is a new addition from Microsoft and can be used to connect external data and video devices.

As claimed by Microsoft, it will last for nine hours after a full charge but perhaps that might depend on the type of usage. The versions available incl- ude the memory options of 4GB RAM with 64GB eMMC and 8GB RAM with 128GB SSD storage. The new Microsoft tablet utilises Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor which is a seventh generation component and the company says it enhances performance, battery life and lends better cooling to the device. Currently, the Surface Go is available with only Wi- Fi connectivity option while the LTE version is rumoured to come later.

As of now, the device is made available in a few selected countries including the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, the UK Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
