Cup dreams over, stars head for a break

-

Stars from the football world have been getting over their World Cup heartache by soaking up the sun on holiday with loved ones.

Gylfi Sigurdsson ( left) got over his World Cup disappointment with Iceland in the best way possible, getting engaged to Alexandra Helga while in the Bahamas, reports the Daily Mail.

The Everton midfielder shared the news on Instagram, captioning the upload: “She said YES”, accompanied with an engagement ring and love heart. Meanwhile, Manchester United new boy Fred ( in background) is putting his feet up ahead of his debut season in the Premier League by unwinding with his girlfriend Monique Salum.

The Brazil international, whose Cup campaign was ended by Belgium, posted a loved- up picture on his social media channels of him cuddling his partner in the sun. Fred’s compatriot, Gabriel Jesus, is making the most of his rare break off with his beloved mother, Vera Lúcia Diniz de Jesus. The Manchester City striker shared a photo of the pair on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Love of my life”.
