‘ No generation gap between my grandmother and me’

One person who I’m really close to is my grandmom ( nani). She is my best friend, my inspiration and somebody I idealise. She’s been far ahead of her times. She instilled the importance of education and independence in us.

After her marriage she insisted on completing her graduation and has a Masters degree in English literature. She’s been working as an LIC agent for 55 years and is still going strong. I adore her for her practical and independent approach towards life. She’s so disciplined.

I feel there is no generation gap between us and I can talk to her about anything — be it relationships, make- up, fashion. I share this amazing rapport with her and I feel she’s a blessing for me.
