Tottenham stars back in training

-

Tottenham have returned for pre- season training with much of the squad still involved with the ongoing World Cup.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele and Kieran Trippier were among the nine players absent from Spurs’ training facility in Enfield as they continue to push for glory in Russia with their respective nations, reports the Daily Mail.

However, while Mauricio Pochettino’s side began their pre- season preparations with many absentees, there was a number of big names making their returns from a summer of rest.

Ben Davies was a recognisable face on the training ground, looking to re- discover some sharpness after a hard- earned break from Spurs duty after helping them to a third- successive top- four finish last season.

Also back in action were Harry Winks, Serge Aurier and Fernando Llorente, while Erik Lamela showed his pleasure at returning to action on Twitter.

Lucas Moura, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain in January, also returned to training and will be hoping to mount a charge to become a regular in Pochettino’s side this season.

With little more than two weeks to get themselves back up to speed, Pochettino will be putting his players through the mill as they prepare for a jam- packed tour of the US, where they are set to travel approximately 2,050 miles in just six days.
