A 23- year- old woman was found dead in mysterious circumstance at her in- laws’ residence in Gokulpuri area on Sunday late night. The deceased has been identified as Iram ( 23). She was reportedly four months pregnant. She lived with her husband Nazim, alias Sonu, and inlaws in Old Mustafabad in Gokulpuri, said the police. Her family alleged that she was allegedly murdered by her husband. However, her inlaws told the police that she was found hanging from the ceiling fan at home on Sunday afternoon at their resident. The police has arrested her husband. An inquest inquiry has been initiated under the sub- divisional magistrate. The police has kept her body for an autopsy and it will be conducted on Tuesday by a team of doctors. “Several wounds were found on Iram’s body. Her family alleged that her husband, Nazim, was having an extra- marital affair, leading to quarrels, after which she was beaten to death,” said a police official. Iram and Nazim married last year in November. “Nazim, who ran a small cosmetic shop, was arrested after the victim’s father alleged foul play. Other family members are at large,” the officer added. Javed, the father of the deceased, said that his wife had received a call from her daughter- in- laws home who claimed Iram has eaten something following which she is ill. “When we reached her home, she was found dead on bed. She had injury wound on his neck and face. I informed the police,” her father said.
