ANIL’S SECRET TO HAPPINESS

- LIPIKA VARMA

Actor Anil Kapoor is enjoying one of the best phases of his life. On the professional front, he shows no signs of s l o w i n g down, and on the personal front, all his three kids seem to be doing quite well for themselves. Sonam’s won a national award and she’s recently got married; Rhea’s tasting success as a s t y l i s t and a producer; and Harshvardhan is slowly but steadily moving towards achieving his goals. And that’s not all, for an actor in his 60’ s, Anil looks pretty damn good. What more could he ask for? During an interaction with the media, Anil reveals the secret to his vitality. “I have always been working. I started working at a very young age, immediately after finishing my schooling. At that time I didn’t realise how much I loved my profession, but I put a lot of effort into everything that I did. Work makes me happy; it gives me joy. I have fun on set. And I’ve always had a positive attitude towards everything. Maybe that’s keeping me looking young,” he says.

The actor also shares an easy relationship with every one of his children. “I am their best friend. Your relationship with your kids should be such that they don’t hide things from you. It has its drawbacks — they don’t listen to you, but you always know what they are doing. Even Sunita and I are friends. That’s why I am able to work better and live a positive life. Otherwise, trying to become someone that you are not can be tiring.”

Undoubtedly, the actor has managed to strike that difficult balance between personal and professional satisfaction. “Being positive brings solace,” is his mantra.
