Ox sweats it out at gym

-

Liverpool star Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain is doing everything he can to recover from the horrific knee injury suffered in last season’s Champions League semi- final.

The midfielder suffered multiple ligament damage during the first leg of his side’s European tie with Roma in April, with it being revealed last week that he is set to miss the whole of the new season due to the severity of the problem.

However, Oxlade- Chamberlain has refused to let his head drop, spending the past few days working hard on his rehabilitation in a gym in London, reports the Daily Mail.

The 24- year- old shared a series of photos of himself on an exercise bike, lifting weights and stretching the injured leg, one captioned ‘ trust the process’.

He has a long road ahead of him, however, having damaged every major ligament in his right knee, including the cruciate, medial and lateral collateral ligaments.

The England international, who at that part of the season had become an integral member of Jurgen Klopp’s, also damaged a tendon which leads to the hamstring, resulting in further complications.

Crucially, there was no impact to his cartilage nor were any of his bones broken. He was operated on eight days after the incident by the renowned knee surgeon.
