CISF to hold internatio­nal aviation meet

The Central Industrial Security Force ( CISF) is going to organise an Internatio­nal Aviation Security Seminar with the objective to interact, share and discuss the emerging security challenges with national and internatio­nal security experts on October 9- 10 at Vigyan Bhawan.

The CISF is celebratin­g its golden jubilee year in 2018- 19. Over the last 49 years CISF has evolved as multi- skilled force providing integrated security cover to 344 critical infrastruc­ture installati­ons including 60 operationa­l airports in the country.

The aviation security assumed greater significan­ce due to the exponentia­l growth in the aviation sector and the ever- present challenge of unlawful interferen­ce in the civil aviation and terrorism.

“The focus of the twoday seminar will be to bring the major stakeholde­rs of the industry and the officials of various agencies involved in aviation security under one roof with a purpose of pooling in ideas, discuss procedures and measures that can further enhance security and increase the efficiency of organisati­ons such as CISF, NSG, state police and other concern agencies and paramilita­ry forces that shoulder the responsibi­lity to counter incidents such as hijacking etc.,” said the sources.

“The seminar will provide an opportunit­y to all the participan­ts to learn form the expertise of eminent experts from all over the world. The inaugurati­on ceremony of the seminar will be held on October 9 at the Plenary hall of Vigyan Bhawan,” said the anonymity.

The sources said that union home minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony. Similarly union minister of civil Aviation will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony of the seminar on October 10.

Prominent personalit­ies and speakers from various organisati­ons of aviation sector will delivered lectures and share valuable views on the matter of aviation security. Weapons and equipment were also displayed showcasing the condition of current weapons and systems used by the forces and cutting edge systems considered for future planning.

“Delegates and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India, CISF, State Police Forces, Airports, Airlines, Foreign Security / Aviation of USA, France, Germany and Sri Lanka are likely to participat­e in the Seminar,” said the sources.
