1THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY: A London- based young author visits the members of a book club in Guernsey to chronicle their love of books. It has books and romance — the right hooks for me. 2HOUSE OF FLOWERS: ( La casa de las flores) I watched a couple of Spanish language serials set in Spain: House of Velvet, Cable Girls etc, and this Mexican serial is full of drama and great looking people! Will watch Season 2 for sure. 3MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES: I dipped into this Australian series like it were a secret stash of chocolates. I dread when I will reach the end. The main character is a classy woman private detective; Phryne Fisher, who is courageous, intelligent, sassy, independent, wears fabulous clothes, and is definitely not a prude. 4DOC MARTIN: A British surgeon develops a paranoia about blood and leaves to take up a country doctor’s practice. It has fabulous scenery of the British coast, humour and great insights into the human pysche and behaviour. An all- time favourite that I keep recommending to family and friends! 5SACRED GAMES: Had read the book years ago, and knew it would be worth watching. The story has been updated with contemporary references — a nice detail. I’m waiting for the second season. DISENCHANTMENT: The escapades of a trio led by a rebellious party animal of a princess, her personal demon and a young elf. If you liked Simpsons, you would like to know that this is made by the same creator, Matt Groening!
