With the 10th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati all set to begin, the show’s ever- energetic host, Amitabh Bachchan, talks about how the set almost feels like home now.

“At times, I feel like spending the night on set after a long day of shooting,” he says, adding that he’s not concerned about TRPs as a measure of the show’s success. “I don’t keep tabs on the TRP, that’s for the channel to handle. I just do my job.” The superstar also reveals that he’s inspired to match the tenacity of his younger co- stars. “Actors from the new generation — like Al ia, Anushka, and Deepika — are so capable and so brilliant that you get scared when you’re working with them. It took us years and years to master our craft, and we’re still trying to finetune it. But these people know exactly what they’re doing from their first day on set. They are so confident and mature,” Bachchan says.

The actor known for his humility reveals that he often sends young stars tokens of appreciation. “Look at Ranbir ( Kapoor), Sushant ( Singh Rajput), Varun ( Dhawan), and Rajkummar ( Rao). Even Kartik Aryan in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, I get so obsessed with their performances, that I write to them and send them flowers after watching them.”

He seems to be especially in awe of Alia and Ranbir, with whom he’s currently working in Brahmastra. “I am getting an opportunity to work with actors like Alia and Ranbir is just unbelievable,” he concludes.
