3 associates of Bawana arrested, 2 pistols seized

In a major crackdown on the gangsters in the national capital, the sleuths of Delhi police crime branch has arrested three aides of Neeraj Bawana gang and recovered two automatic USmade pistols, one country made pistol, six cartridges and a stolen car from their possession, said Addl CP ( Crime) Ajit K. Singla.

The arrested accused were identified as Vaashu Sharma ( 30), Sarjeev ( 24), and Yogesh ( 27). Vaashu was a parole jumper in a double murder case in Tihar Jail. With their arrest, the police claims to solve two cases of murder.

The accused Vaasu was lodged in jail for last six years in several cases of murder, attempt to murder naming some. In the jail, he came in contact with gangster Neeraj Bawana. In June he jumped the parole and was planning for a major loot to arrange money for marriage of his sister.

He alongwith his associate Sarjeev and others fired several rounds of gunshot to terrorise a businessma­n and to establish supremacy in the area. Saravjeet was involved in several cases including one where he along with his associates robbed the service pistol from a Beat Constable. While accused Yogesh was sentenced for six years in a robbery case.
