Rapper Karthik Gubbi might certainly have struck a chord with Bengaluru’s youngsters. But, it’s clear that the young artiste now wants to rise above his city connect: His first music video, Little Little

Things, aims to be relatable to every listener irrespective of their understanding of rap or not. The Bengaluru boy shot to fame after Amma a Kannada Rap sung by him along with Tejas Shankar made it as the Song of the Week on BBC Radio in the UK last year. In a candid chat, he tells us more...

Bengalurean owes the collaboration to sheer serendipity. This video is a collaboration with musician Madhura Gowda, and is set for release towards the end of September.

“Madhura and I have been performing since October 2017. It has been a great journey ever since. We worked on a bunch of songs, and we both have a very similar vibe. She’s the first artiste I’ve cowritten the song with,” he says.

Tight lipped about the music video, Gubbi is also lying low with the publicity. Speaking of which he says, “I don’t wish to divulge a lot, and want to reserve some space for suspense. The budget has been about ` 50,000 for this video. We have pinned our hopes on the fact that the song is really relatable and something all listeners can understand. It’s a digress from hardcore rap, so I hope to see more people liking and sharing it.”

That aside, Gubbi also has a full- fledged 10- track album in the pipeline, On which he explains, “Yes, this is a solo venture, themed along the lines of

Naanu Gubbi. Who are you. It’s got the right element of soul and sass. That’s all I can say for now,” signs off Gubbi.
