Happiness curriculum to answer problems: Sisodia
Addressing the representatives of the education department from 70 countries at the World Education Conference in Moscow, Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said that India has been in the forefront in education for thousands of years. He asserted that his government has developed a ‘ happiness curriculum’ which will pave the way in eliminating the problems of the world.
Mr Sisodia while presenting his government’s education model at the conference talked about various schemes that have been implemented by the AAP to improve the education system of the government schools.
Mr Sisodia emphasised that the task of education is to equip the students to address the challenges faced by them. The children have to be prepared to tackle the dire issues of the today’s times including terrorism, pollution, corruption and gender discrimination. All over the world these problems are becoming serious.
He said that today the machines and technical innovation are being made more efficient. In such a scenario, we need to think that if everything is done by the machines, what will the man force do?
He said the machines through technical and automation in today’s world is being made more efficient. But the world would think that when we have been through most work better technical expertise machines person will do at a time. He said that in order to deal with the problems facing the world today, his government has designed happiness curriculum to cope up with the burning issues.
Nearly one million Delhi kids are being taught through ‘ happiness curriculum’ in classes first to eighth. Almost 20 thousand children in classrooms sit to learn better ways of living. The future generations will have to be trained to tackle the issues of growing terrorism and tensions in the world.
The happiness curriculum he said has become a talking point for everyone ever since it was implemented.
