Tattoos that reflect your profession

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Getting inked is a fun idea, but choosing the most apt artwork isn’t exactly easy. While many look to others for inspiration, others go for something that’s trending. But many millennials are now opting for something that reflects them — be it their profession or passion — something that can be a powerful way to portray intensity, commitment and enthusiasm towards one’s dreams and ambitions.

Personalised tattoos demonstrate one’s interest and passion, whether you are a creative artist, passionate musician, ardent chef, sportsman, writer, or just love to hit the road, or see the world through a lens.

Talking about the trend, tattoo artist Mickey

Malani, co- founder of BodyCanvas shares, “I find professional tattoos very intellectual and meaningful. It transforms people’s achievements into a pictorial story that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. It’s a tattoo about one’s life that you relive every day — be it a chef, a pilot or somebody who has won an Olympic medal.

These reminders often push them to perform better in the future. Also, they often inspire people to be who they want to be.”

Guitarist Sumit, who is looking for a perfect ensemble of artists for his band, was at first reluctant to get himself inked. But the eureka moment came when he compiled the first draft of his very own music a month back. Rather than telling his peers about it, he decided to celebrate his success in a new way. “I was hesitant at first but after I had a little chat with the artist and told him about my inhibitions and yet the desire to get inked because of my success, I was all set to go. It did pain at first but it was worth it. It was only later that I told my friends about it. And today, carrying my success literally on my shoulders not only motivates me but also helps me cope with the growing pressure.”

Well, looks like this trend is here to stay as many tattoo studios have witnessed an outpour of people who would love to carry their personal and professional success on their sleeves.
