Spoof video sparks discomfiture in Cong
A script of a spoof video created apparently to bash Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and project unity in Congress ahead of year- end Assembly elections in the state, has gone wrong rubbing the camp of veteran leader Digvijay Singh in the wrong way.
The 3.48 minute- video clip, a recreation of a scene of Bollywood blockbuster Singham, portrayed the chief minister as a corrupt politician, played in the movie by Prakash Raj, while giving the role of DGP to Mr Singh who was heard admitting his past friendship with him.
The video showed MP Pradesh Congress Committee ( PCC) president Kamal Nath along with his party colleagues threatening to take action against the chief minister over the alleged corruption in his government, provoking Mr Chouhan to remind them that he was a chief minister and hence he was immune to any kind of probe against him.

character of Singham, played in the movie by Ajay Devgan, was wondering if the Vyapam scam, involving corruptions in admissions in medical colleges in the state and recruitments in government services, should be made public and then probed.
A worried Mr Chouhan was then seen in the video rushing to the AICC general secretary Mr Singh, pleading “Mr Digvijay Singh, please make them understand that I am a chief minister”.
“Jab dosti na rahaa…. To kya samjhaye ( when friendship ceases to exist… what could I say ( to them)”, Mr Singh was heard replying to the chief minister in the clip. The video showed the chief minister making fun of the “new bonhomie” among the factional leaders in Congress.
“The particular line, delivered by Mr Singh in the video, is of poor taste. It tarnishes his image. Mr Singh has been singlehandedly fighting the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in the last 15 years,” a senior leader belonging to Mr Singh’s camp observed.
